WRITE TO SAVE THE WHITTINGTON

March 22, 2010

As mentioned on Thursday my local Residents Association decided enough is enough and that we will try to get some firm commitments not to close the Whittington A&E from the Health Minister and the three main party leaders before the general election.

Everyone higher up the political ladder seems very good at “being concerned” and “wanting to review the issue after the election” .

Well – I’ve got news for: We’re not stupid ! This is not our first election and we’ve seen it before. So either party leaders make a clear promise not to close the Whittington to which we can hold them after the election or North London voters will have to conclude that all this is just election whaffle and one political party is as determined as the other to close our Whittington Hospital.

I am excluding from my rant our local MPs and parliamentary candidates who are fighting bravely for the Whittington but without their party leaders behind them they can very easily be ignored after the election.

SO EVERYONE – TIME TO PUT PEN TO PAPER AND WRITE A FEW LETTERS or at least fire off a few e-mails.

To make your life easier here are a few template letters you can adapt as you see appropriate. Just click on the links below:

MINISTER FOR HEALTH SERVICES

GORDON BROWN

DAVID CAMERON

NICK CLEGG

If we want to keep our Whittington A&E it is important that every single one of you writes these letters and asks their friends and neighbours to do the same.
